Petty thug Michel panics and impulsively kills a policeman while driving a stolen car. On the lam, he turns to his aspiring journalist girlfriend Patricia, hiding out in her Paris apartment. When she learns that Michel is being investigated for murder, Patricia begins to question her loyalty.

Jean-Paul Belmondo’s cop killer-on-the-run turns to Jean Seberg’s young American for help in Jean-Luc Godard’s landmark film.
